Abstract
Objective: The purpose of this study is to compare the demineralization effect of dental plaque on the tooth surface in different kind of conditions.

Methods: 11 extracted third molars were divided to 44 pieces. 40 pieces were eliminated enamel for hardness test and 04 pieces with enamel surface for SEM observation. All the samples divided to 04 groups: (1) natural surface, (2) applied with plaque micro-organ, (3) immersed in bicarbonate beverage then applied with plaque micro-organ, and (4) immersed in 2% NaF then applied with plaque micro-organ. Afterward, insert the samples to incubator for 3 days under temperature at 37¡ÆC.

Results: The SEM micrographs of the experiment showed the different surface morphology, it revealed the severe erosion pattern surface in group 3, compared to others groups, micrograph in group 4 showed the slightly erosion pattern. The micro- hardness value in group 2 (48.02¡¾3.46) and group 3 (39.08¡¾12.63), they were significant different statistically (p<0.05) compared to group 1 (53.88¡¾3.44), but among group 2 and group 3, it was no significant different statistically (p>0.05). The micro-hardness value in group 4 (50.27¡¾4.27) was no significant different statistically (p>0.05) compared to group 1.

Conclusion: It was recommended that to protect our teeth from dental decay should to avoid the bicarbonate beverage and others high risk dental caries, combine with utilization the products which consist fluoride.
